Cookie Policy
Effective 18 October 2026. Last updated 18 October 2026.
This policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage used by the TEACHNIQ platform and website. It covers TEACHNIQ’s own pages (for example www.teachniq.com) and the academy sites that run on our platform. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
The short version: we use cookies that keep you signed in and keep the platform secure, plus a few that remember a choice you made. We do not use advertising cookies on TEACHNIQ’s own pages. An academy can choose to add its own analytics or marketing tags to its own site; those only run after you agree, where the law asks for that.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, do the same job. Some are needed for the site to work; others remember settings or measure how a site is used.
Cookies we set
These are set by the platform itself (first-party). Names are exact so you can find them in your browser.
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
sb-* | Keeps you signed in. Set by our authentication provider (Supabase) and holds your sign-in session. | Strictly necessary | Session, refreshed while you are active |
alms_sid | Ties your sign-in to one active session, so a second sign-in elsewhere can end the first. A security measure. | Strictly necessary | Session |
alms_auth_evt | A one-time note that you just signed in or signed up, so the page can record that event once. Removed right after use. | Strictly necessary | Seconds |
alms_consent | Remembers your answer to the cookie banner (analytics yes or no, marketing yes or no). | Strictly necessary (stores your choice) | 180 days |
tq_creator_academies | Remembers which academies you have signed in to on this browser, so the creator login can offer them again. | Functional | Up to 180 days |
tq_support | Signs you in to the TEACHNIQ Support site after you open it from your academy. | Strictly necessary | Session |
tq_ideas | Signs you in to the TEACHNIQ Ideas site after you open it from your academy. | Strictly necessary | Session |
alms_offer_dev | A random device id so a limited-use coupon offer cannot be claimed repeatedly from one device. | Functional (fraud prevention) | 30 days |
ls_console_view | Remembers whether the live sessions screen shows tiles or rows. | Preference | Browser default |
ls_window, ls_window_student | Remember the time window you chose on the live sessions screens. | Preference | Browser default |
Local storage
We also keep a few preferences in your browser’s local storage, such as your theme, which tab you last opened in a menu, hidden table columns and recently used items. These stay on your device and are not sent to us.
Cookies set by services we use
| Service | Why it can set cookies | When |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare Turnstile | A bot check on sign-in, sign-up and similar forms. It may set a short-lived cookie or use local storage to tell people from bots. | On pages that show the check |
| Your academy's payment gateway (for example Razorpay, Stripe, PayPal) | Their checkout pages set their own cookies to process and secure a payment. We do not control or read them. | Only when you pay |
| Google, Microsoft and Dropbox | If an academy administrator imports a file with a picker from one of these, the provider may set cookies in that window. Learners do not see these. | Only in the import window |
Analytics and marketing on academy sites
An academy can switch on Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4 or Meta (Facebook) tracking for its own site. When it does, the academy decides what is measured and is responsible for telling you about it. We provide the consent banner. The tags load only after you agree when you are in a country where the law requires consent (by default the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein; an academy can ask everyone). Until you choose, nothing is sent. These tools typically set cookies such as _ga and _fbp, which last up to about two years.
TEACHNIQ’s own marketing pages do not load advertising or analytics tags without your consent.
Your choices
- Use the cookie banner on a site that shows one. You can change your answer later by clearing the
alms_consentcookie in your browser, which brings the banner back. - Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Strictly necessary cookies are needed to sign in, so some features will stop working without them.
- Use your browser’s private mode or a tracking-protection setting.
Changes to this policy
If we add or remove a cookie we will update this page and its date. The list above is built from what the platform sets today.
